Pure water – the local gift of the Salpausselkä ridge
At Teerenpeli, heritage and nature work hand in hand: the protected Salpausselkä ridges, fertile fields, and the rhythm of Finnish seasons all shape Soidin.
In Lahti, Finland, nature itself provides the most essential ingredient for whisky: pure water. Soidin, like every whisky crafted by Teerenpeli Distillery, is made with groundwater filtered through the ancient Salpausselkä ridges – a UNESCO Global Geopark area. This natural filtration creates water so clean that it requires no treatment before being used in food and drink production. Few whisky regions in the world can claim such purity at the source.
But water is only part of the story. Teerenpeli stands in the heart of one of Finland’s most fertile grain regions – often called the country’s granary. Here, local farmers, mills and a world-class malt house supply the finest barley, giving Soidin its Nordic character and depth. Learn more about this grain cluster region that ensures consistent quality from field to glass.

Once distilled, Soidin begins its slow transformation in oak casks in upcycled sea containers under the Finnish sky. The whisky breathes with the seasons, maturing in natural temperature variations from +5°C to +30°C. These northern shifts in climate add layers of complexity, creating a single malt that reflects both place and time.
At Teerenpeli, heritage and nature work hand in hand: the protected Salpausselkä ridges, fertile fields, and the rhythm of Finnish seasons all shape Soidin. This is more than whisky – it is a taste of Nordic authenticity, Finnish purity and award-winning craftsmanship.
