Teerenpeli Soidin world premiere at London Whisky Show 2025

This October, London becomes the centre of the whisky world once again as Whisky Show 2025 opens its doors at Old Billingsgate. Among the more than one thousand drams to explore, a new name from the Nordics will make its very first appearance anywhere in the world: Soidin, a Finnish single malt whisky crafted by the award-winning Teerenpeli Distillery.

A Nordic story of purity and craft

Born in Lahti, Finland, Soidin is the latest chapter in the pioneering journey of Teerenpeli, one of the first whisky distilleries in the Nordics. Since 2002, Teerenpeli has pursued uncompromising quality and authenticity – a passion recognised with the IWSC Worldwide Whiskey Producer of the Year award in both 2020 and 2024.

What sets Soidin apart is not only craftsmanship, but also its origins. Every drop is made with crystal-clear groundwater filtered through the ancient Salpausselkä ridges, considered among the purest sources on earth. Working with a globally renowned malthouse and trusted Nordic partners, Teerenpeli focuses on high-quality malt as the foundation of its whiskies.

The story behind the name

The name Teerenpeli is an old Finnish expression for playful courtship and the black grouse’s mating game, while Soidin refers to the dramatic mating rituals found in Nordic nature. Together, they capture the spirit of curiosity, tradition and discovery – values that define our distillery.

Visitors will discover Soidin in the Nordic Whisky Zone, a vibrant area of the show that celebrates distilleries redefining whisky in Northern Europe. It is here, in London, that Soidin will be poured for the very first time – the whisky’s world premiere, offering an exclusive chance to taste an expression of pure Nordic nature and family-owned dedication.

Alongside other acclaimed names from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland, Soidin brings a distinctly Finnish perspective: purity, heritage and a touch of playful intrigue.

A whisky made for discovery

At 40% ABV, Soidin is approachable for newcomers yet nuanced enough for seasoned enthusiasts. Its light, smooth character makes it enjoyable neat, but it also shines in carefully crafted cocktails.
